Since I was very young, I have been interested in art. I could spend hours reading about the lives of painters, and even as an adult, I have spent countless afternoons studying the various artistic movements that some group of strangers founded in some remote village in France.

There is a lot to be learned from appreciating art, unfortunately I can't set up a bed inside a museum, and people look at me strangely when I try to get too close to a piece of art to appreciate every millimeter trying to absorb as much as possible. Luckily there are books that compile the works of my favorite painters, sculptors and other artists so I can fangirl over them in the comfort of my home. It's not the same, but it's something.

On this shelf you will find art history books and even artbooks of some of my favorite works. There are also portfolios of some artists.

Fashion Design

Fashion has always fascinated me. Every facet of it, from the design of a garment and its subsequent construction, the noble art of weaving and goldsmithing, as well as the study of historical costumes, is wonderful. On this shelf are books that cover every detail of the world of fashion, always with an eye toward romantic and decadent aesthetics. The more lace and velvet, the better.

As a person within an alternative scene, it is always interesting to see the documentaries and texts that are written about the alternative scene, both those that have an insider perspective and those works that are produced by people "from outside". On this shelf you will find books that focus on the gothic, metal, steampunk and lolita scenes, as well as books that took advantage of the boom of the so-called urban tribes, all from the point of view of the people and their customs.

Esotericism and Religion

Although I consider myself a pagan, I'm quite skeptical about... well, practically everything. However, that doesn't stop me from learning about the occult and the various beliefs found within the Left-Hand Path, Wicca, and yes, even theology. On the contrary, I believe a skeptical mind makes it much easier to put things into perspective. On this shelf are some books I've come across over time about this fascinating world.

History and Essays

History has always fascinated me; I even thought for a while that it could become my career. And although a lot of time has passed since then, the truth is that history continues to capture my attention, albeit with a slight twist. As you can see from this bookshelf, you'll find standard history books here, but also reports, biographies, and studies of all kinds — the darker and more twisted, the better.
