Since I was very young, I have been interested in art. I could spend hours reading about the lives of painters, and even as an adult, I have spent countless afternoons studying the various artistic movements that some group of strangers founded in some remote village in France.
There is a lot to be learned from appreciating art, unfortunately I can't set up a bed inside a museum, and people look at me strangely when I try to get too close to a piece of art to appreciate every millimeter trying to absorb as much as possible. Luckily there are books that compile the works of my favorite painters, sculptors and other artists so I can fangirl over them in the comfort of my home. It's not the same, but it's something.
On this shelf you will find art history books and even artbooks of some of my favorite works. There are also portfolios of some artists. For other biographical books that are not based on visual material, visit the History and Essays shelf.
